Greater Region : a privileged area of cooperation and innovation

 

UGR, inter-regional prize for research, TIGRE... Via all these projects, the Greater Region is developing cross-border integration that must further boost its competitiveness in Europe.
 
 
Higher education and research within the ambitions of Lorraine’s Presidency
Successor to Saarland, Lorraine holds the presidency of the Greater Region until 2012. The development of scientific and university cooperation, and the reinforcing of competitiveness via innovation are amongst its priorities.
 
The Interregional Prize for Research 2010 : the list of prize-winners
Awarded on 5 October, the Interregional Prize for Research rewards cross border cooperation which has enabled scientific projects to be conducted. This new year puts the Paul-Verlaine University - Metz and the National Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine in the place of honour, together with their partners, the Luxembourg and Saarland Universities.
 
University of the Greater Region: the network is coming together
An inter-university cooperation project bringing together7 universities in the Greater Region, the UGR already offers new devices and tools available to students, lecturers and researchers. A non exhaustive review of projects is underway.
 
Integrative Biology Programmes in the Greater Region
In the fall, students in Lorraine may add to their study programme in Liège, Luxembourg and Saarbrucken by registering for an integrative biology programme, which includes bioinformatics, automatics, biotechnology and biology.
 
TIGRE : a driving force for transfer and innovation in the Greater region
The TIGRE Project aims at bringing closer the supply from the public research laboratories and the technological demand of the small, medium and large companies within the Greater Region.
 
Cross-border scientific cooperation : innovative tools for learning languages
ALLEGRO is going to get you to speak! This European project plans to modernize French and German learning software thanks to the techniques developed in the 4 Greater Region laboratories.
