IRT M2P: Lorraine at the Centre of the "Materials Valley"

 

The IRT M2P was selected in the context of the French “Major Loan” scheme. Six other technology research institute projects were selected in France. The project sponsored by major university, industry and political leaders in Lorraine, Champagne-Ardenne and Franche-Comté came in second.

 
 
   The region strengthens its position in the materials area. Metz will welcome a technology research institute. Based on a public-private partnership, the IRT M2P (metallurgy, materials and processes) will become a reality with the construction of an international research center.
 
  Budget, staff, research axes and implementation of a project supported by industry, university and political leaders in the Lorraine, Champagne-Ardenne and Franche-Comté regions.
 
   For Jean Chrétien, Director of Arts et Métiers Paris Tech Metz, the IRT will allow for the development of a “creative and effective” partnership between post-secondary education, research and business.
 
   As an industrial partner of the new Technology Research Institute, PSA Peugeot Citroën intends to rely on the skills and facilities shared by the project partners to meet its innovation needs.
 
   For Jean-Yves Le Déaut, 1st Vice-President of the Lorraine region, the research projects conducted by the IRT will allow for the emergence of new businesses that will create new jobs.
