Created in 1980, the CRAN is a common laboratory of Henri Poincaré University-Nancy 1 and the National Polytechnics Institute of Lorraine, associated to the National Centre of Scientific Research ("Sciences and Technologies of Information and Engineering" (ST2I))

It brings together nearly all of the control engineers in Nancy and covers a broad spectrum of competences in automatic control engineering, signal processing, productics and computer engineering.

With nearly 100 permanent members and 20 associate members, it trains a few dozen students annually in Research Master’s and CNAM Engineers and around sixty doctoral students.
