Presentation of the structure

APOLLOR is a Technological Resource Centre specialised in polymer and composite materials :
- Development of new materials ;
- Industrialization of new injection processes: gas assisted, monosandwich, foaming or multi-component injection ;
- Mechanical characterization of plastic materials by VidéoTraction® (static and dynamic) ;
- Design of new pieces or products notably using "predictive design" by the M3C procedure: Materials, Characterization, Calculation, Correlation.

275 and 1000 tonne press injector, compounding line, 20m/s high-speed test machine, Videotraction® system, CAD programs, calculation programs...

APOLLOR relies on research work in order to industrialize new materials, products or processes concepts, and has the objective of favouring the creation of new activities in accompanying businesses in Lorraine in their innovation procedure.
APOLLOR implemented, on Lunéville, the M3C platform dedicated to predictive design and product innovation. The objective of this conception is to finely predict the behaviour of plastic or composite pieces (resistance to shocks, creeping, fatigue…) in order to optimise geometry, material and fabrication. For that APOLLOR uses the global M3C procedure : Material, Characterization, Calculation and Correlation that aims, in particular, at using reliable data for material (notably with the help of VideoTraction® test techniques), to develop behavioural laws specific to polymers and finally, using predictable, reliable models.
The M3C platform is also a space of creativity, product innovation, from design to industrialization, from the specifications to the pre-series. Product innovation passes by the development of plastic pieces with high added value by the use of eco-material or biomaterials and the implementation of innovative technologies like monosandwich injection, gas assisted or partial compression injection. After validation of prototypes, industrial fabrication is assured via the Soluplast network grouping together mouldmakers, injectors and other plasturgy specialists.

APOLLOR is at the source of numerous projects and research and development studies carried out :
- Study and development of a predictive design for sun-protection device (Grupo Antolin) ;
- Establishment of a thermomechanical behavioural law at high speeds from different solicitations (Rhodia) ;
- Development of a predictive design on PE tank during creep (Total) ;
- Thermocreep of polymer structures (Renault / Visteon) ;
- Study of behavioural laws polymer clip (A Raymond) ;
- Study and design of a monosandwich baluster (EVR) ;
- Feasibility study and development of a technical joint for agri-food (PIP) ;
- Feasibility study of a biodegradable food tray (PIP) ;
- High-speed characterization tests on belts (CNIM) ;
- Traction, compression, shearing, fatigue, creep… (Plastic Omnium, Visteon, Total, Rhodia).
