Presentation of the structure

The centre brings together 13 companies from Lorraine, positioned in markets for the maintenance of wind farms and sub-contracting for manufacturers of wind turbines. This group, with specialised skills in leading edge areas offers a wide range of products and services. Its members are able to produce and / or maintain many elements of a wind turbine: generator, gearbox, hub, automatic control, shaft, mechanical parts precision connection of wind turbines to the grid by installation of high voltage lines and the creation of distribution stations and transportation. In addition, the centre develops preventive and curative maintenance activities. Equipped with powerful research facilities and invested in partnerships with universities and engineering schools, the group performs work of design and development in new materials. The Wind Centre of Lorraine also has investment capabilities in new renewable energy projects (solar power , hydroelectric plants along watercourses) and wind power in particular. It is supported by the Region of Lorraine, the DRIRE, and CCI INTERNATIONAL LORRAINE

These two member businesses.

The Wind Centre of Lorraine wishes to offer its products and expertise in wind farm projects and power generation plants. It is able to provide castings, mechanical parts or precision automation to local businesses building sub-assemblies for wind power (speed multipliers, generators, brake systems) or to manufacturers of wind turbines that have established wind farms.

Companies in the cluster can offer operators of wind farms in Lorraine special interventions that do not fall under the manufacturers' warranties, and also complementary checks (checking the manufacturer's repairs for example) to offer health checks for the machines.

The main references of the cluster's companies are among the biggest names in the wind sector: REpower, Maia Eolis, GDF Suez, Multibrid, Nordex, Siemens, GE ...
