The Centre of Clinical Epidemiology (CEC) is a research platform open to teams of practicians and researchers of the CHU, the university and INSERM associated units. The main research programs supported and implemented by the CEC are organized around two centres :
- Cohort studies with descriptive, etiologic or prognostic aim in clinical epidemiology studies in the domains of the musculoskeletal system, paediatrics, cardiovascular system, nephrology, ORL, etc, and in relying on networks and registries (nephrology, transplantations, multiple sclerosis).
- Evaluation of innovative practices, by evaluation of clinical strategies and interventions and the medico-economic evaluation of innovative medical practices and systems.
The CEC assures the research training of public health interns, Master 2 students and doctoral candidates in epidemiology and public health.

Subjects of Research and Applications

Clinical epidemiology : aim of innovative diagnostic and therapeutic practices are cohort studies with descriptive, etiological or prognostic and evaluation.


Cohort 3000 arthroses : natural history, prognostic factors, quality of life, consumption of care and social consequences of hip and knee symptomatic arthroses.
Cohort subarachnoid haemorrhage by rupture of an aneurysm: national cohort study on the treatment and outcome of subarachnoid haemorrhage by rupture of an intracranial aneurysm.
EPIRAN : evaluation of the treatment terms of chronic renal failure from its diagnosis and their influence on morbid-mortality and on the implementation conditions of substitution methods.
TEP : Implantation of FDG PET cameras in cancerology in the northeast inter-region. Medico-economical evaluation program.
