The ATILF mixed research unit was created in 2001 from the bringing together of the National Institute of the French Language (INALF - CNRS) and LANDISCO (Language Speech Cognition - Nancy 2 University). It sees its excellence recognized on national as well as international levels. Attached to the Humans and Society department o the CNRS, it is also a laboratory of interface with the Engineering department. It is a member of the CNRS federation - Institute of French Linguistics and the TEI (Text Encoding Initiative) international consortium.

The ATLIF has a national platform of linguistic resources supported by the DNRS SHS department at its disposal. It also assures the development of knowledge and benefits from national and international cooperation.
