Structure the collaborations between the laboratories
 

They are called FED (Federation Ministry), FR (Federation of Research), UMS (Mixed Unit of Service) or even MSH (Social Sciences and Humanities Institute). All are federative structures, they group together research units around a common scientific project. These units can be from different research and postsecondary educational institutions.

Within these Institutes and Federations, each team brings its competences and its means. The main interest of these structures is in the implementation of multidisciplinary groups. This is one of the major issues of the development of regional research.
