Get around in Lorraine

In the city

In the region, all the towns are covered by bus networks, often extended to the outskirts.
Metz : The TRCM (Public Transport of the Messine Region) makes it possible to get around the whole city thanks to 29 main lines. The Pass’Etud proposes interesting rates to students under 26 years old.
Nancy : with its buses and its tramline, the Stan network serves the whole Nancy area. Its monthly subscription formula, the Maxi Pass U is reserved for postsecondary education students. VélOstan is a bike hire service (half-day or long-term). It proposes reduced rates to subscribers of public transport and to students. Another service offered by the Greater Nancy Council, VélOstan’lib provides 250 bikes to rent day and night from one of the 29 bike stands spread out across the city.
Epinal and the adjoining communities are covered by the Imagine network.
Sarreguemines and its urban area are served by the CABUS network.
Longwy is covered by the Semitul bus.
Bar-le-duc benefits from the Tub network.

In the departments

Lorraine’s departments benefit from bus services. They assure interurban links and serve most of the communities up into the rural zone.
The interurban network of the Moselle, the TIM network (Interurban Transport of the Moselle), counts 134 regular lines.
The TED (Transport in Department) supplies the whole of the Meurthe-et-Moselle from the North to the South.
The RTIM (Intermodal Network of Transport in the Meuse) counts 10 regular routes and 11 “on request” routes which are reserved by telephone.

In the region

Punctual, non-polluting and economical,  TER  makes it possible to get around the whole region. Its shuttles and correspondences assure access to the TGV network for all the people in Lorraine. The Pass Campus formula offers advantageous rate conditions for students that use its lines daily.

Put into service in June 2007, the TGV East brought France and Europe closer to Lorraine. The French capital is now only 1 hour 30 min. from Metz ; you can therefore make a return Lorraine – Paris trip in a half day. The Nancy – Strasbourg trip is currently made in 1 hour 20 min., Nancy – Luxembourg in 1 hour 30 min.
