Europe 2020 : a new economic strategy for Europe

At the beginning of March, the European Commission launched the Europe 2020 strategy. According to its President José Manuel Barroso, it “formulates what we need to do today and tomorrow to put the EU economy back on track”. This strategy has 3 priorities : encouraging intelligent growth (promoting knowledge, innovation, education and the digital society), creating an “inclusive” society (strengthening work market participation, acquiring skills and fighting against poverty) as well as developing a green economy.
