The National School of Engineers of Metz is an integral part of the Metz university landscape. Born in 1961 at the same time as its “sisters” in Tarbes, Saint-Etienne and Brest, the ENIM is the fruit of two joint wills: that of the State, who thereby wants to decentralize and structure the postsecondary technical education, and that of the industry that, in a context of strong economic expansion, fears a shortage of engineers.
From their creation, the ENI are distinguished by the originality of their recruitment mode and their educational contents, directly linked with the realities of the engineering profession.
The ENIM has not derogated from this rule at any point in its history. It constantly adapted its teachings to the evolutions of the technologies and today is engaged in a renovation process that will permit it to educate engineers "à la carte".
