The knowledge of action mechanisms of contaminants on the individual level and the response of organisms populations, and by consequence, that of communities, part of an ecotoxicology-ecology continuum that lays the basis of the integrated procedure that we propose.

 

Among the perturbation factors, the presence of pollutants in the environments is mainly considered, because this type of perturbation offers the opportunity of integrating ecotoxicological and ecological approaches.

 

The team also implements a set of approaches and methods in order to characterize the effects of these perturbations at different levels of biological organization, form the cell to the community, whether it be animal or plant. In addition, faced with the heightened erosion of biodiversity, it becomes urgent to understand the consequences of these changes on the functioning of ecosystems…
