Presentation of the structure

Materalia is the Materials and Processes Competitiveness Pole based in the Lorraine and Champagne Ardenne region. Materalia's goal is to conceive, produce and transform effective materials to offer innovative and long-lasting solutions for future markets. The pole has 4 technological axes to support its industrial development based on regional skills : Materalia concentrates on the automobile, medical, aeronautical and energy industries and works with techonologies analyzed as being the most promising for tomorrow's materials: metallurgy, new manufacturing processes, sustainable development and composites.

Materalia bases its research efforts on:

With 130 members, the Materalia competitivity pole reinforces the link between public and industry research.  It encourages and accompanies innovative, collaborative projects that lead to economic applications within 3 to 5 years.

- Assist you in putting together a dossier.
- Assist you in project management.
- Put you in contact with the experts required for your project.
- Assist you in finding technical and financial partners for your projects.

Materalia's objective is to become a European pole of reference in the area of materials and processes :
- by creating potential bi-regional synergies among industrial partners, academic laboratories and technical centers;
- around innovative projects capable of bringing actors to the top level of economic and scientific efficiency;
- by creating potential synergies between international partners (Wallonia, Luxemburg, Russia);
- by turning the Lorraine's industries and laboratories towards the big stakes.


The Materalia pole places its honor on respecting the confidentiality of projects that are submitted.  Materalia has approved more than a hundred projects uniting 57 businesses and 27 laboratories for a 75 M€ budget and enjoys a 40% success rate for the ANR projects submitted.
