   Omnipresent in the Lorraine region, the forest fully participates in regional development. Area, jobs, economic outfall: portrait of this natural lung.
 
  Unique resources center, the European Forest Observatory in Nancy supplies information and analysis to forest decision-makers throughout Europe : industrialists, politicians, researchers, NGOs… Thus it contributes to coordinating of economics and forest politics.
 
   A unique thematic campus in France, the fibers Campus unites the main actors in training, research and valorizing on the same site. Guided tour with manager Pascal Triboulot.
 
   Serving wood sector businesses, the CRITT Bois offers its skills for consulting, trials, new process development… Presentation of this technology resource center located on the Epinal Fibres campus.
 
   An economic activity association dedicated to the furniture and decoration sector, the Lorraine region Wood Furniture Cluster received the "business cluster" label. Implemented by the DATAR (Delegation for Territorial Planning and Regional Action), the goal is to support the SMEs and microbusinesses in the territory.
 
   In Lorraine, researchers are working on a new generation of green fuels, the most capable of preserving the environment and food resources.
 
   Airborne remote laser detection allows for the identification of structures present under forest cover. Used in archaeology and forest ecology, this technique is the subject of a film produced by INRA : "Undressing the Forest".
