International Exchanges

Turned towards Europe, open to the world

It is the first place in the heart of the Greater Region that the institutions in Lorraine develop international exchanges. Controlled by the University Cooperation Charter, they cover almost the totality of the domains of postsecondary education.
The bi-national university institution founded in 1997, the Franco-German University is a university with a "dispersed campus". It draws on a network of 150 French and German postsecondary educational institutions. They implement bi-national projects concerning initial and continued education, research, training of young researchers…
Beyond the limits of the Union, the institutions in Lorraine have established bilateral agreements with Russia, Canada, The United States, Japan and South America. They express themselves through exchanges of students and researchers, the training of foreign teachers…
The Lorraine Region accompanies projects internationally within the framework of the cooperation agreements signed with 6 foreign regions but also on an exceptional title in other regions of the world (areas with a high growth rate, projects meriting Lorraine expertise and know-how). Assistance in identifying partners, financing actions, putting together a subsidies application, making connections... Regional support can be practiced further along (support for exploratory or preparatory missions), putting a project together or during the realization phase.
